"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put a foundation under them."
~ Henry David Thoreau

Partners Again Creative Writing Foundation  Like reading and the imaginations we use when we read, I believe writing is a powerful tool by which we can better ourselves and better understand those around us.

As Percy Bysshe Shelley so eloquently wrote in his A Defense of Poetry, "the great instrument of moral good is the  imagination."

I believe this is true. Through my writing, I have played a thousand roles, the paper in front of me being my stage.  On a number of occasions, this has forced me to see life through the eyes of others; the good guys and the bad  guys; the dads and the moms; the kids and the animals and even the inanimate objects. Life takes on new dimensions when viewed through the eyes of another; as a natural consequence empathy is developed and lives can be and will be changed.

It is in this light then that I introduce to you The Partners Again Creative Writing Foundation (PACWF, www.partnersagain.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching children and families (especially those from broken or impoverished homes) the power of imagination and the creative writing process, as a means to help them deal with and heal from the past, develop empathy and solve problems in the present, and strengthen family and relationships for a better future. Currently awaiting final tax-exempt status, it is our hope to launch this foundation by the fall of 2009. Watch PartnersAgain.org for more information in the coming months.
